1 to 1 help for lunging, barking and growling dogs through a program of repair and relationship building across East Anglia.
Our dogs can struggle with lots of aspects of how we are conditioned to raise them. This can cause behavioural issues such as lunging, barking, growling, pulling on the lead, not recalling, separation anxiety or never being able to settle and relax. All my rescue dogs had coping mechanisms such as these when we first took them in and I initially did a lot of traditional training to help them. It can be hard and exhausting living with a dog that has problems like these, one of mine used to lick the furniture constantly and several have lunged barked and never been able to settle. I never felt I had got to the root cause and that I was patching them up or always trying to keep them from boiling over.

I then discovered Hemene approach to help my dogs and I felt more connected, understood how to offer them safety and find their inner calm. I could finally understand why they were reacting the way they did and how to heal that disruption. A dog that can calm down, has a strong stress management system and has a safe connection to its human caregiver does not have to use the above coping mechanisms to get through life. They are no different from us drinking alcohol, vaping or chewing our nails to get us through our day. I found something deeper than patching and keeping them from boiling over. I now bring this deeper understanding to all my clients at Pause 4 Paws.
My 6-month course will give you the tools to help your dog and you build trust and a deeper relationship. In that time, I provide you with videos you can watch at your own pace to absorb the information. There will be an average of 2 visits a month from me to help you put them in to practise with your dog. As well as the visits and tools I will be providing you with an online community of like-minded individuals who are all on this journey and I will be in that group supporting you all and giving regular information and demonstrations. While we are starting to build the community, I will be offering the course at a reduced rate of £1200.
When we help heal the deep routed need for a behaviour then they don’t need to rely on them. The journey you and your dog will go through will help you both to feel a deeper bond and understanding.
If we look at a dog’s mental foundation as the base blocks of a house, if we miss some blocks the house may look like a house but if the wind puts pressure on then the house falls down. We can repair the foundation blocks, fill the holes and this can help create a balanced and resilient dog that can cope with situations it faces in our society rather than their house collapsing when pressure comes in the form of another dog, a stranger or a loud noise. When we rely on patching and correcting a specific behaviour only, they often develop another behaviour to cope when they are scared or feel unsafe. We don’t get to the underlying issue. When we repair the building blocks and create that safety / trust between the owner and dog they will look for our help and guidance rather than trying to cope alone.
